Axis of Rock! Tour!

September 27th, 2005

The multiple exclamation points in the title only hint at the amount of excitment that The Jargon is going to throw at you during our year long “Axis of Rock*” tour starting Oct 7th at Midtown (previously The Purple Porpoise).

Attacking Midtown with lightning efficiency much like the German Panzer ’s Blitzkreig of Poland, our set will be a fourty minute short range bombardment of killer hooks and stinging guitar licks, crushing our listeners will to resist under the sheer force of musical antagonism.

If you don’t come to our shows… The terrorists have truly won.

-Shaun

You’ll probably like these songs
July! July! - The Decemberists
Frivolous Tonight - XTC
It’5! - Architecture In Helsinski
Fumble - Architecture In Helsinski
Shake - Otis Redding

Goodness gracious

September 15th, 2005

We’ve had an absolutely phenomenal (sp?) reaction to our first show! The visits to the Inuit Jargon central mainframe has literally doubled in the last week.

I’m trying really hard to get the Multiplication Table EP on the internet for download if you didn’t get one at the show, or if you weren’t there.

Also, we’ll actually have photos in our photo section one of these days; so I’m sure that’ll be pretty cool.

I’d like to point your attention to the more neglected portions of the site
The Interview and Biography of Inuit Jargon’s mysterious super producer DJ Tanner

Inuit Jargon Lyrics: Find out what the D we’re actually saying!

Much more to come. Stick around Jargon land.

Listen to these songs or something bad with happen to you
Redemption - Swayze
Call Any Vegetable - Frank Zappa
Loop de Loop - The Beach Boys

How about that?

September 10th, 2005

It’s the day after the show, and I’m happy to report that we not only didn’t suck, we we’re actually pretty good relatively speaking.

A lot of new visitors have been heading to the site in the last couple days. Get some MP3s and read the bio. Also check out the often neglected INTERVIEW with Inuit Jargon following the release of our debut album, “Who Authorized This?”.

Thanks CdG, The Bell, and Morgan for rocking it last night. Also, thanks for anyone who took our new free sampler: The Multiplication Table EP. The songs and album art should be in the MP3 section to download shortly.

Road Journal 9/10

September 10th, 2005

Well, the show went down, and I think it went down pretty sweet. A big freaking thank you to everyone who came out, and a bigger thanks to Morningbell, Cara Del Gato, and Morgan for letting us share the bill with them. We hope to have more shows for y’all soon, possibly as early as October, we’ll see how it goes. We hope everyone enjoys the Multiplication Table EP. Make copies. Give them to friends. Just get that stuff out there.

-Andrew

Use It - New Pornographers

Uh oh.

September 3rd, 2005

Only 6 days until the show and we all came to the sudden realization that if you perform somewhere you have to be good. That said, we’ve been practicing our tails off and preparing to rock you all thoroughly and with impunity.

We plan on building a campfire in the middle of Hyde and Zekes to make this the HOTTEST show Gainesville has ever seen.

Oh, and you might have noticed that I also updated the site so now a map of the venue is on top. I figured this may be the only time ever that directions to a show will ever be needed so I may as well have fun with it for the week.

Listen to these or be dominated
Baby Lemonade - Syd Barrett
Loop de Loop - The Beach Boys
Nicht Dank! Haha! Was wird es helfen - Richard Wagner (that crazy Nazi)
Rave On - Buddy Holly
After Dark - Le Tigre
The You I Created - Of Montreal

Oh god

September 3rd, 2005

Less than a week til the big show, and we’re ramping up. Late night practices fueled by root beer and Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey 98 are helping us reach our goal of putting on the hottest show Gainesville has ever seen. Get ready for lots of fun and surprises. It should rock, and remember, if you don’t come for us, at least come for the other bands on the bill.

-Andrew

P.S. Go to morningbell’s myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/morningbell) to hear the hot new track “When I’m Famous (I’ll crush you all)”. It’s amazing, it sounds just like Of Montreal.

Albums of the Week:
New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
Steel Train - Twilight Tales From The Praries of the Sun
INXS - Kick
Neko Case - Furnace Room Lullabye
