BOO YAH!

August 22nd, 2005

BACK IN GAINESVEGAS!!! The Jargon are here and ready to rock. We’ve begun heavy preparations for the live show…well we had already started, but now we’re in full on freak out mode. It should turn out really well, its gonna be fun, and if we suck, at least you can laugh at us. Work on the album has slowed down, because well, the studio is in O-Town, not gainesville, where we are. I have no idea when the album is gonna come out at this point, but we’ll post new songs on myspace and hand out free sampler cds at shows to let you guys checkity check out some new shit. There’s 4 songs completely done, with about 7 more nearing completion, and 1 to be started.

Songs of the Summer:
Bikini Bottom - Electrocute
Miracle Drug - A.C. Newman
Disposable Parts - Enon
Man Bites Man - Dogs Die In Hot Cars
Mandarins - Dogs Die In Hot Cars
16 Military Wives - Decemberists
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Mass Romantic - New Pornographers

But oh, those summer nights…

August 18th, 2005

So as summer comes to a close and we completed our last session, we can say without a doubt that the IJ album is going full speed ahead. Even though one of the computers broke and pretty much lost all of the vocal tracks except for the already finished ones, we’re well on our way to having a CD (or at least a very long sampler).

I guess that’s pretty much it.

Listen to these songs or something bad might happen to you
The Doors - W.A.S.P (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)
Outkast - Stanklove
Funkadelic - Can you get to that
Elton John - Bennie and the Jets
Outkast - Speedballin’
The Mars Volta - Cygnus Vismund Cygnus (and skip the middle part)

We Do Awesome…

August 11th, 2005

So get this… after a marathon 7 hour session, we’ve

COMPLETED 3 SONGS

The album is truly in full effect; especially now that we laid down our hot dance track, “We Do Awesome” (Which may just make it’s world debut at Da Clubwarming party).

New MP3s in the Mp3 page. Get on it.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, Jack White of The White Stripes is something like the 3rd greatest guitarist who’s ever lived (and as anyone knows Rolling Stone magazine is never wrong). In tribute, Andrew laid down a homage to Jack White’s guitar “skills” in an Inuit Jargon “Internet Exclusive” J-Side called “Jack White Guitar Solo“.

I think the results speak for themselves.

This is a call…

August 4th, 2005

…to Dogs Die In Hot Cars. If any of the members of said band are reading this (of course they are!), at this moment, Inuit Jargon is ripping you off. Hardcore. Please come to Florida and show us how to pop rock. Then we can all eat cake.

-Andrew

P.S. Everyone go IMMEDIATELY to morningbell’s myspace page to listen to the amazing new song.

Trying to Keep the Customer Satisfied…

August 3rd, 2005

So we said that we weren’t gonna make any new songs and instead just finish the old ones we had. Oops, Andrew ended up recording a demo for a new song that’s better than all our other songs so far, so I guess that means we should probably do that one.

On a different tangent, no one can ever convince me that the 80’s created good music because if you try to convince me of that you’re probably a liar. Oh, and this just in, Interpol is still not very good no matter how much you say differently. If you like 1-2 loud snare drumming on every song, that’s alright, not all bands need songs with different timing, or versatility, or vision, or creativity. If you like a singer whose heavily synthesized delivery is so monotone that it borders on self-parody; hey that’s cool, too, computer vocal effects can be just as interesting as talent and/or personality, right? If you like being attacked by every instrument in the band at once that’s cool, I guess; just don’t try to convince me that it’s not worthless/annoying/loud/boring/been done/et al.

On a third tangent, the Inuit Jargon side project, The Boriqua Mafia, will soon be in full effect.

On a fourth tangent, the Jargon is officially legit. At least according to The Bell website. Below I produce for you Exhibit A:

Bell Shout Out

Listen to these Songs or Face Celestial Wrath
Swayze - Benediction
Simon and Garfunkel - Keep The Customer Satisfied
John Hiatt - Mr. Stanley
Of Montreal - Death Dance of Omipapas and Sons for You
Enon - Daughter In The House Of Fools
Bob Marley - Rebel Music (3′Oclock Road Block)
James Taylor - Oh Susanah
