Today was semi productive. Shaun came over, and we put vocals down on the hot new version of Bloody Wombat Clamps. We then wrote lyrics for the hot hot heat style song, tentatively titled “Homophones and Alliterations,” and wrote lyrics for the new pornographers/bowie style song, thats probably gonna be titled “The Kibbosh,” a song we are expecting to most likely be the hottest song on the album. we’re really digging it. we decided we most likely feel about it the way electric six must have felt when they finished writing “Danger High Voltage.” Speaking of E6, guess who’s birthday its gonna be when they roll into G-vegas on October 8th! That’s right! Chevy Chase! But its also gonna be my birthday, so that weekend will most likely rock quite hard…in the middle of the street. So anyways, we also re-recorded the vocals for the Zutons style song, working title “The Zutons style song.” We’re not sure how we feel about this one, but i’m sure it will still make the cut, because if we start cutting songs because they arent very good, then we’ll end up with an album with no songs on it. So yeah, that’s about all we did today. The album is most likely shaping up for a late fall release, most likely November or December. We’ll try to hand out free sampler CDs at shows as we get songs completed. Apon reading this journal entry back, i’ve found that i’ve said “most likely” 5 times. oh god, i just said it again, 6 times. I leave you now with my songs of the week. Byeeeeee.

So lots of news from Jargon land and we curve round the bend toward fall semester. We have about 9 songs in various stages of recording about 3-5 more worked out but not recorded.
We think we have what might be a single brewing so that’s pretty awesome. It sounds sort of like “Diamond Dogs” Bowie slapped the New Pornographers in the face, but then they became friends and went to an XTC concert.
I just added Timpani to “Space Beauty Pagent”, and if timpani doesn’t rock I don’t know what does.
We have a lot in store for our merch girl, the impeccably coif Julie Zerbib. Jargon merchandise may or may not include a “Men of Inuit Jargon” calendar. Also, we’re flirting with the idea of giving out FREE palm readings at our merch table.
Also check out the flyer that I made for the show

If that’s not enough news… Inuit Jargon just got a Myspace. That means now we’re a real band, right?

Ahh my fellow Jargonites, the end time is quickly approaching… Can you feel that icy sting? That son is the uncontrollable restlessness that comes from knowing the day of reckoning is soon upon us… the fortuitous evening when Inuit Jargon will make its first official stab at establishing a kingdom of Rock™ within the boudaries of Alachua County.*
Yes friends, all of this circular dialog is leading up to what may be the greatest announcement in all of Rock™ history:
An Inuit Jargon show at Hyde and Zekes in Gainesville on SEPTEMBER 9th.
Mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen… The ice age is quickly approaching.

Hey guys,
I figured I should post some sort of update. There hasn’t been much activity here at the icebox. I’ve been working alot and haven’t had much time to do recording. “We Do Awesome” is on its way to becoming a dance hall favorite. We’re working on a new song, still untitled at this point, but its kinda sounding like The Shins meets the Zutons on their way to go see Fleetwood Mac. Shaun is coming over today and we’re gonna finish writing that song and two others, and maybe record some vocals, we’ll see what happens. There’s other cool stuff cookin’, that I can’t quite mention yet, but all I can say is get ready for a sweet ass fall semester…
